Local Elections Matter — And So Do Local Candidates
Every election season, we hear a familiar refrain: “This is the most important election of our lifetime.” And while national races often steal the spotlight, the truth is this - it’s the local elections that have the greatest impact on our day-to-day lives.
In Mt. Lebanon, the 2025 Primary Election included positions such as Common Pleas Court Judges, County Sheriff, School Director, Mt. Lebanon Treasurer, Mt. Lebanon Commissioner, Judge of Elections, and Inspector of Elections. These are the roles that shape how our communities function - from the quality of our children’s education to how our tax dollars are spent and how our elections are administered.
Yet, despite their importance, many of these races had no official Republican candidate on the ballot.
This isn’t a matter of interest - it’s a matter of readiness. Too often, local races are taken for granted. But if we want to see meaningful change, we can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines.
At MLCRW, we believe it’s time to build the bench.
We need thoughtful, committed Republicans who are willing to step forward and run for office - especially for positions like School Director, Commissioner, and Judge of Elections. These roles aren't ceremonial. They determine how our neighborhoods grow, how our schools perform, how our elections are conducted, and how our values are represented in public life.
You don’t need to have a political science degree or years of campaign experience to make a difference. You just need the heart to serve and the courage to lead.
If you’ve ever found yourself frustrated by the direction of our township, or if you’ve ever asked, “Why isn’t someone doing something about this?” - maybe that someone is you. Instead of asking why isn't someone doing something, maybe you should be asking "If not me, then who?"
We’re here to help. MLCRW is committed to supporting and preparing Republican women - and men - who want to make an impact in our communities. Whether you're ready to run or ready to help someone else do it, we invite you to be part of this effort.
Because the future of Mt. Lebanon and the South Hills doesn't begin in DC.
It begins right here. With us.
